Meter marks or franks are printed marks on envelopes created by postage meters denoting prepayment of postage. The impression is a combination of a postage stamp-like mark called an “indicia” and a postmark. Meters are often used by companies that handle large volumes of mail.
In addition to a brief history of the use of meter marks in Botswana and a description of terminology, this site provides a list of licence holders and a typology for categorization. The site also contains a digital copy of my philatelic exhibit on the typology I have developed for Botswana meter marks, articles that I have written on the topic and copies of other articles and websites related to the topic.
